Schultz is the early standard-setter for the 2028 class because there is no obvious weak point in his profile. He plays fast, carries through contact, attacks the middle and can finish or distribute without slowing the play down. His WHL production as a 15-year-old and strong international showings support the view that the offence will translate against older competition. He also works hard away from the puck and has enough strength to impact possession physically. At this stage, he projects as a true first-line centre with legitimate first-overall upside.
