Michalek already plays with unusual composure for his age. His skating lets him stay connected to quicker attackers, while his size and reach give him tools to end plays without constantly chasing contact. With the puck, he is calm under forecheck pressure and usually chooses efficient exits rather than forcing low-percentage plays. His offensive ceiling will depend on how much more assertive he becomes as a creator, but the current two-way foundation gives him one of the safer high-end projections in the class.
