Spelkvist is a constant shot-generation threat. He attacks open ice aggressively, gets himself into the slot and plays with the confidence to challenge defenders rather than defaulting to the perimeter. His puck skill and pace are both high-end enough to create clean looks off movement. The next step is rounding out the off-puck and defensive layers so his value remains high on nights when the finishing does not arrive. The offensive ceiling is still among the better ones in the class.
